The DeBordieu Colony is a gated community containing miles of private beach and a magnificent golf course. The community began as a beach retreat for wealthy rice plantation owners. Following the Civil War, DeBordieu was converted into a winter getaway and a hunting retreat for mainly out-of-state residents. Since then, a good portion of the community’s 2,700 acres has been established as a wildlife preserve. The wildlife preserve protects and guarantees that the area within the preserve will remain undeveloped for many years to come. The community amenities include a Georgian-style clubhouse, an oceanfront beach club, a restaurant, a private swimming pool, a gazebo bar, tennis courts, and a tennis shop.
The Heritage Plantation is 600-acre golf course community overlooking the widest and most scenic section of the Waccamaw River. The exclusive community boasts centuries-old magnolias and oak trees crowned in Spanish moss leading the way to the immaculate colonial clubhouse. Built on the Midway and True Blue Plantations, the community has fully preserved the fresh water lakes and marshes of the old plantation era. The River Club
The River Club is a private community esteemed for its Lowcountry landscape and plantation-style golf course.
